Safety is a critical part of our culture here at Great Lakes Mechanical. To achieve the standards, our employees receive general and site-specific training on every applicable project. Site-specific safety plans are built into every project from the beginning taking safety into account before we even set foot on the project. Great Lakes Mechanical conducts regular audits of potential hazards and unsafe working conditions that could lead to an accident.
All employees also receive annual safety /refresher training on proper procedures, equipment operation, and environmental hazards. We also conduct Foreman training that capitalizes on Safety systems, advanced hazard identification and risk control measures and processes.
A Job Safety Analysis process is conducted on all jobsites daily prior to starting work. These are used to identify hazards ensuring all employees know the risks that may arise throughout the day and what we are doing to make sure we are working safely in those areas. Tools box talks are also used weekly to discuss specific topics that could potentially be happening on our jobsites.
Quarterly review meetings are held with our safety committee. These meetings are used for reviewing safety statics from the previous quarter and to address any safety hazards or concerns coming up on future projects. This includes investigating accidents to identify the cause and take immediate corrective actions. We share this information company wide to prevent any similar incidents on other projects.
